Witnessing the abundance of trees abandoned due to logging and urban expansion, they were inspired to breathe new life into these forgotten natural wonders. From Log to Table
We carefully select our logs and process them using a bandsaw mill to efficiently utilize the available material, ensuring minimal waste and maximum utilization.
Lumber drying is a vital process for preparing wood for furniture. At Karl Taylor Wood, we use air and kiln drying methods. Air drying involves stacking lumber in a controlled space with good airflow to naturally remove moisture. Kiln drying finishes up the process by placing lumber in a regulated chamber. Kiln drying is particularly effective as it not only removes moisture from the wood but also eliminates bugs and sanitizes the wood. This ensures that every piece of furniture we create is of the highest quality and free from any potential pests. These techniques are crucial for high-quality custom furniture.
After carefully drying the slabs to the perfect moisture content, our skilled craftsmen meticulously begin the design process.
